Frequently Asked Questions
Thinking of Joining
What’s the difference between Pilates and Reformer Strength training?
Both are low-impact and emphasize controlled movement, but they take different routes. Traditional Pilates focuses on core strength, alignment, and mobility—often at a gentler pace. Our reformer strength training amplifies those foundations, using more resistance and intensity to build muscular endurance. Think of it as a more athletic spin on classic Pilates.
We use specialized reformers and slow, intentional pacing to work your muscles to true fatigue while prioritizing joint safety. Classes are designed to challenge, with minimal breaks, so you walk away stronger, steadier, and more energized—all in just 45 minutes.
Do I need to take an intro class?
If you’ve never been on a reformer or just want to move at a slower pace for your first class, we recommend taking either the ‘Good Foundations’ class or scheduling a private lesson, but it is not required. The Good Foundations class is an intro class to learn more about the reformer, some basic moves and good form. We offer private classes as well.
Will I be able to attend classes regularly with my schedule?
We built our schedule for real life—early mornings, post drop-off, evening wind-downs. Launch Members get priority pick, so you can claim the slots that fit best. If you’re reviewing our schedule and not seeing your ideal times, let us know. We’re listening.
Do you have any intro offers?
We typically run a limited amount of intro packages at any given time. Please check out our Pricing & Membership page for more information.
Are there age restrictions?
Participants must be 18 or older to attend classes.
Are GoodGood classes safe during pregnancy?
First off, congratulations! If you were regularly attending classes before your pregnancy (we consider regular as 2-3/week), you can continue as long as you feel comfortable and have your doctor’s approval. Please consult your physician before joining a class, and let your instructor know in advance so they can provide modifications tailored to your needs.
Can I participate if I’m recovering from an injury?
If you’re recovering from an injury, we invite you to reach out before class so we can guide you toward the safest and most supportive options. Many sessions are adaptable, and our instructors are trained to offer personalized modifications, however depending on your injury we may recommend a private class for more focused attention.
Preparing for your first Class
What should I bring to class?
To get the most out of your workout, it’s important to come prepared. Here’s a quick list of essentials to bring:
Grip socks: Grip socks are required for every class for safety reasons. If you do not have grip socks upon arrival, you can purchase them at the front desk. They provide better traction and stability, ensuring a safer and more effective workout.
Water bottle: Staying hydrated is key. We recommend bringing a water bottle to sip throughout class as needed. Bottled water is also available for purchase at the front desk.
Towel: You may break a sweat during your workout, so a small towel is handy for drying yourself and the reformer off as needed, but not required.
A positive attitude and patience for yourself: Reformer strength training classes can be challenging, but good things come to those who work hard. We encourage you to bring along a positive mindset and patience to class. It’s rare you’ll feel like you ‘nailed it’ after just one class. We often say it takes about 3-5 classes to understand the machine, moves and pace of class.
What should I wear to class?
Form-fitting workout attire: Wear breathable, form-fitting clothing that allows for a full range of movement. Avoid loose clothing that could get caught in the machines. Tighter clothes help instructors monitor and correct form.
Minimal or no jewellery: For safety and to prevent damage, it’s best to keep accessories to a minimum.
Do you have water on site?
Yes—we offer a filtered bottle-refilling station for those bringing their own vessels. Prefer something ready to sip? Water is available for purchase at the front desk.
Do you have showers?
We do not offer showers on site at the moment.
Where do I park?
Up until 4pm, you can park in any open spot at 1201 Laskin Rd. If you’re attending a class after 4PM, let the Quemar Valet know you’re visiting GoodGood Studio and they will let you park yourself.
If for some reason you have to valet your car, it is complimentary. And no need to tip - we have that handled on a weekly basis. Just let us know if you ended up needing to use the valet.
Navigating Class Sign-Ups
How do I book and manage classes?
Reserve your spot through our website or mobile app (“GoodGood Studio App”) which can be downloaded from the app store for iOS (LINK) and Android (LINK) . You can view your upcoming sessions, make changes, or adjust your schedule—all with a few taps.
What happens if the class I want is full?
Hop on the waitlist. If a spot opens, you’ll be auto-enrolled and notified by email and/or SMS (You must be opted in to receive SMS notifications. This can be done through the App in notification settings).
Planning ahead? Our system stops auto-enrollment 60 minutes before class begins, so check in early or release your spot if your plans shift. If you need to cancel your spot on the waitlist, please do so in the same manner as you would for a regular class.
If you are moved into the class from the waitlist within the 8-hour cancellation window and decide you no longer want the spot, please note you will be charged the $15 late cancellation fee. If you were added to the class and do not show you will be charged the $20 No Show fee.
How often should I attend class?
For best results and to build consistency, we recommend attending class three times a week. This frequency allows your body to build strength and endurance while also giving you time to recover. Of course, listen to your body. There will be weeks when one class sounds good and that’s alright too. Most importantly—consistency is key, so find a schedule that works best for you.
What if I’m running late?
We allow a 5-minute grace period at the beginning of classes. Latecomers will not be permitted into class after the cutoff. Please try to arrive 10 minutes before class to get situated.
What’s your class cancellation and no-show policy?
Cancel up to 8 hours in advance—no charge, no stress.
Late cancels within 8 hours incur a $15 fee, but you will not lose class credits.
No-shows incur a $20 fee, but you will not lose class credits.
We understand life happens—reach out if something unexpected comes up. We're here to support, not penalize.
